Fracturas expuestas: revisión bibliográfica y manejo terapéutico actualizado

Introducción: Las fracturas expuestas constituyen una de las urgencias ortopédicas más frecuentes, y su probabilidad de complicación se incrementa con el tiempo de exposición.
Objetivo: Indagar el manejo inicial de las fracturas expuestas, con base en evidencia científica reciente. Método: Se realizó una revisión de bibliografía actualizada basada en evidencia que incluyo guías y estudios clínicos, para ofrecer una guía sistemática sobre el manejo inicial de las fracturas expuestas Resultados: El tratamiento oportuno combina desbridamiento, estabilización quirúrgica precoz y un esquema de antibióticos bien seleccionado, ha demostrado ser clave para mejorar el pronóstico de los pacientes. Conclusiones: El sistema Gustilo-Anderson es fundamental para el manejo integral ya que ayuda a guiar el tratamiento con el fin de favorecer la recuperación de los tejidos y evitar infecciones.
